When I listen to 1960's (some early 1970's) music and compare to today's 'music', just sick. The variety then of White, Black, some Latins, and even a Japanese song (Sukiyaki) was publicly embraced. The groups, Motown, the Beach Boys, the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, the girl groups (like the Shirelles, the Crystals, the Shangri las), Bil Withers, Jose Feliciano - the music from all these different cultures and ethnic backgrounds didn't matter.
